Sports are about those incredible moments where sheer human will and desire overcomes the odds. These are the moments we enjoy and remember forever.
Sports help in overall physical as well as mental development of the students. While playing with each other in schools, it inbuilt a sense of team spirit, leadership, self-esteem, self-confidence, friendliness among the children. Games & Sports undergo positive mentoring among children.
HMS promotes sports to the leaps and bounds. To train its students in the fields of sports, HMS provides Special Coaching for Outdoor games for Cricket, Football, Volley Ball, Handball, Badminton, Baseball, Karate, Kho-Kho, Taek-Won-Do, Table Soccer, Gymnastic and Yoga.
Ghai Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015-16
The 1st Ghai Memorial Cricket Tournament under 12, an initiative by HMS to promote cricket among school students, was inaugurated by the school Principal of Happy Model School, Janak Puri, Ms. Astha Ghai Walia. The efforts of the school in introducing this event proved worth with the registration of almost all the school of West Zone. On the inaugural day of the tournament, the school ground was full of young cricketers ready to set their mark in the field of much admired sport, Cricket.
The tournament continued for about two months with matches in line between various teams. After all the matches being played the host school, Happy Model School and New Era Public School entered the finals which was played on 30th January 2016 and Happy Model School raised the winning trophy beating New Era Public School by seven wickets.
The culmination ceremony was graced by the Former England Cricket Players Alan Mullally and Robin Smith who felicitated The Winning and the Runner up teams. In their encouraging speech they congratulated the winners, appreciated the initiative taken by the host school for organizing a tournament of such value and appreciated the participating schools' endeavour to come forward and play in the competition. The event concluded with the vote of thanks presented by the school Principal, Ms. Astha Ghai Walia.
